LPG Gas Conversions
Nene have been involved in LPG gas conversions for the last 10 years, Always giving the customer much cheaper running costs and, in more recent times, great reliability with multipoint gas injection systems.
Up to 3 times cheaper than diesel!
Running on LPG can be approximately half the cost of diesel. Generally LPG retail price is less than half the cost, for company users with their own bulk tank it can be less than a third of the cost of diesel. With a larger petrol/LPG Range Rover or Discovery which would return 16-20 mpg on LPG, you can see that it would work out considerably cheaper than diesel. Bulk LPG is less than a third of the cost so for example our Discovery towing a heavy trailer would return 17 mpg, 3 x 17 mpg would equate to 51 mpg running on diesel. If your annual mileage is considerable then LPG can save you a lot of fuel costs.
100% LPG – No tachograph required
For those commercial towers out there it is worth knowing that if your vehicle runs only on LPG (no petrol tank or ability to run on petrol just LPG), and you tow commercially and have a combined Gross Weight of 3500 kg or more – you can be exempt from a tachograph. So not only can you save vast sums of money through the use of bulk LPG, but can have more flexibility in operating times – without the hassle, cost and restrictions of having to fit and maintain a tachograph.
Nene Overland are now running a Discovery III and an earlier Discovery I, solely on LPG – both have a range of 600 plus miles between fills. Both can legally tow 3500 kg.
