Huge rise in European Jeep Sales

Jeep sales continue to grow exponentially in Europe

jeep-renegadeJeep has announced another record sales period.  For the 18th consecutive month, the brand continues to grow in Europe with June being the best month ever with 8,500 sales and a 176% increase compared with June 2014.

At product level, with more than 5,400 units sold, the Jeep Renegade has been a particular success and is now permanently among the most sold vehicles in its segment in some of the major European countries and top 5 position in places.

The Grand Cherokee performance was as well positive. In June, compared with the same month in 2014, the vehicle had an 18% increase in sales in the European region, reaching the top positions in its segment in key countries like Italy, Switzerland and Poland.

This striking Renegade police car is the result of a new partnership between Jeep and Wiltshire Police. At the end of the six month test period, Wiltshire Police plans to buy the Jeep, which has been fitted with full police graphics, blue lights and sirens, and use it out of Gable Cross Police Station, Swindon.

The car, in 1.6 Diesel Sport specification, combines best-in-class off-road ability with world-class on-road driving dynamics. Inside, functional details crafted from high quality materials and using innovative colours ensure the Renegade will become an excellent addition to the force’s drivers. news-defender-challengeA combination of wet and dry weather conditions created unpredictable and unstable terrain and proved the toughest challenge for the Defender Challenge contestants as they embarked on the third round at the All Wheel Drive Club Allisport Hillrally at Walters Arena, Wales.

Ten Defender 90s, modified to FIA rally standards, took the startline for a gruelling 16 stages of forest and slate gravel sections over nearly 12 hours in two days. Walters Arena, renowned for its abrasive terrain lies in the picturesque pine-clad Powys hills in the heart of a windfarm and provides extreme conditions for high-speed, low friction driving, as such it is a regular location for Land Rover’s test and development engineers looking to put the future generation of Land Rover vehicles through their paces.

STORY THREE pic 1One of a pair of 5.0 V8 powered Defender 110s totally reworked to their royal clients specification. Once completed the two Icon Defenders were literally flown out to the middle east. The project started off with two new White left hand drive 110 TDci Defender station wagons which were then totally re worked and built for long range desert Falconry field sports expeditions.

Firstly the original roofs, side panels and doors were removed then interior and exteriors stripped to enable all the original LR Fuji white to be changed to 1990 LR portifino red. While this was going on lambs wool carpets and saddle hides were made to cover the seats and flooring as well as lower door cards. Classic Land Rover half doors were to be used and bespoke sun shade hood and frames made at Nene’s specialist vehicle facility at Peterborough.
